D! Your squeeze is one of the most soothing physical expressions of love I’ve ever encountered. It is made up of the softest parts of you, and I know how fortunate I am to be among those to receive it.

When we first met, I was drawn to you like a magnet. I could have stayed curled up under your arm forever when you first hugged me; I knew it was with intention. That probably sounds silly to anyone who doesn’t know us, but I know you will understand the sentiment.

You have an unmatched ability to make a space FEEL beautiful. Your aesthetic sensibility surpasses that of anyone I know, but whats more is your ability to infuse life and meaning into your creations. You build (literally) spaces that allow people to want to sit down, slow down, and enjoy the moment and the people around them. This is your craft, but it is also your being. By that I mean you apply this same magic to the figurative emotional spaces you build in your relationships.

I believe you ask yourself, upon encountering a human you love (or anyone for that matter), “How can I make this experience more beautiful.” I am in awe of this talent, I am in awe of you.

I struggle to apply adequate words to the feeling I get when you reach over to fix my shirt, or move a piece of rogue hair back in its place. Your occasional texts to say “I love you” pop up in the most perfect moments. These effortless but incredibly meaningful gestures are threads in the woven fabric of our friendship. These “little” things make the biggest impact.

Over the years, you’ve made me a stronger, more confident human. I recognize your tendency to drain yourself to these ends, to give everything you’ve got to the process of building a space (or in my case, a person). I am grateful for all you’ve given me, all you’ve built for me.

I can’t imagine my life without you. Our friendship is my safety blanket; woven with all your love and creative energy, it is a gift I will cherish forever. I am so thankful to be a witness to your talent, to get a glimpse at the way you see the world. I am so fortunate to share in some of your adventures and thankful that you make that possible every chance you get.

I love you. I love you. I love you.
